MGM Resorts wanted to grow their brand awareness with the LGBTQ+ community, stimulate their LGBTQ+ wedding business and promote their brand as inclusive to all people. Building on the insight that same-sex couples didn’t have a dedicated soundtrack to their love stories, we enlisted a range of high-profile artists, including Kesha, Bob Dylan, and St. Vincent. to record gender-flipped versions of classic love songs. We were also able to reunite iconic indie pop duo She & Him to record two new original songs, their first release in over five years. The six-song album, titled Universal Love was released digitally and on vinyl. Universal Love received widespread acclaim, garnering positive reviews from The New York Times, Pitchfork, BBC, NPR, amongst many others.
